Sandis Šrāders is an Associate Fellow at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs. In his previous positions he has served as a Board Member and Secretary General of the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation, Manager at the British Council of Commerce in Latvia, Senior Expert at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Latvia and a Consultant of the EU programs for the ICT development.
Sandis has been working with diverse international projects like, for example, preparation of an intellectual capital for the Latvian Presidency of the EU's Council in a framework of the project "Riga Process". As one of the initiators of the "Baltic Guards" project he is an adamant supporter of the annual initiative taking place in one of the Baltic States.
He is a PhD Candidate and currently a student in the Graduate Program in International Relations at the Old Dominion University. He has received MA and BA degree from the Riga Stradins University. His academic interests are Transatlantic relations, American foreign policy, international political economy, energy security and role of small states in international relations among other areas.
